Supporting World COPD Day 2018
Published Hana Zezulakova - 2018. 21 November.More than 3 million people die from chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) every year and according to the World Health Organisation, it will become the third leading cause of death worldwide by 2030.
To raise awareness of this debilitating condition, the Global Initiative for Chronic Obstructive Lung Disease (GOLD) is marking the 21st November 2018 as World COPD Day with the theme ‘Never too Early, Never too late’.
This type of progressive lung disease is characterised by increasing breathlessness, leading to a growing demand for Portable Oxygen Concentrators (POC). Designed to improve quality of life for COPD patients, GCE Healthcare has increased the investment in research and development to help patients remain active and independent.
Our product innovations include the Zen-O™ and Zen-O lite™ portable oxygen concentrators, which allow patients the freedom to move both inside and outside their home. They also offer best in class technology to detect shallow breaths and deliver a constant bolus of oxygen in response to different activity levels and breath rate.
With GCE Healthcare’s latest product Clarity, we’re harnessing advances in telehealth technology to allow providers and clinicians to review POCs’ usage history to make sure they are using the right system and are adhering to their oxygen therapy.
